About Me

We are an environmental science research group from Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. We recently began to monitor a stream in the Northwest branch of the Anacostia River near our school using an environmental monitoring device using the Mayfly technology, thanks to the Stroud Water Research Center. We will be monitoring the health of our stream through conductivity, temperature, depth, oxygen saturation, turbidity, macroinvertebrates, and other measures. We are very excited to continue our work and learn more about the technology and new ways to keep our ecosystems healthy!
