Great – I’ve asked https://www.instrumart.com/ if they plan on stocking it.
Something to note, a bit strange, is it comes up in SDI-12 mode, and needs an initial configuration to switch to RS485.
From getting some initial success – it may be worth starting with SDI-12 and getting some responses. Alternatively talk with a tech rep as to how they…[Read more]

It did seem to make a difference in the short term but the problem started again. My latest fix was to ground the analogue signal cable to the battery negative. I’ve done this now on 4 rain gauge systems and it seems to be very reliable. Should have done it sooner.

Neil/Anthony,
I think we will be able to purchase one Keller CTD this year and I will work on getting it going on the Mayfly 1.1 in whatever spare time I can find in my schedule. I appreciate all the input so far and I am looking forward to digging into this in the coming months. I will keep you both posted as I get going… I’m sure there will…[Read more]

That’s great, I’m glad it worked. Based on your screenshot, I can tell that your station is running a sketch that I programmed onto that Mayfly board in March of 2018. It’ll still work if you’re using the same CTD and turbidity sensor it originally had on it, and it will save data to the memory card every 5 minutes. It had the ability to tr…[Read more]

It’s ALIVE!
St. Patrick’s Day miracle…
Chip cleaned with 91% but still a bit corroded – but Adafruit CP2104 manually attached (not soldered) and iMac picked up the com port, I adjusted baud rate until gibberish became legible. Will have the adapter soldered together and we should have a working machine.
Thanks so much for your time and help!

As stated on the Details and Spec page, the Mayfly v1.1 can only source about 100mA from the 12v output, so if your motor draws 400mA, you’ll need to power the motor directly from your 12v source and not from the Mayfly.

Thanks! I just ordered two. My four port sampler project uses 12V motors which draw about 0.4A so I guess that would be an option to use the 12V output and LiPo 3.7V batteries.
I assume this converter uses switching so it should be reasonably efficient. I’ll le you know how they work. Good old amazon – I should get them tomorrow!

That is correct, the Mayfly v1.0 and 1.1 boards do not have a separate external power input for 4v to 12v sources like the v0.5b boards. This is because the main voltage regulator on the v0.5b board that accepted that wide range of voltage was discontinued by the manufacturer, and the new voltage regulator doesn’t accept that high of an input…[Read more]

Hi @shicks I got my 5 pack of the v1.1 boards today and I noticed that:
Does that mean I can no longer power the Mayfly from a 12 V supply? I have an application for water sampling and the pumps run on 12V and they are controlled by the Mayfly so I can power the whole system wit…[Read more]
