What’s the current draw of your heaters? There’s a variety of relays you could use, but I know several people have had good luck with various Grove-compatible relay boards, like the ones from Seeed. But your options are going to depend on how many amps of current the heater draws from the battery.

I have some apogee pyranometers and pyrgeometers for my monitoring stations, and each of these sensors has an internal heater that helps to clean off snow, rain, and frost. The heaters operate at 12 volts, so I have them connected directly to my 12-volt battery which powers my entire setup. Having the heaters connected 24/7 draws a lot of power…[Read more]

I am trying to update a data logger which was using Arduino Mega+SD reader and us Arduino GiGA R1 in order to monitor it remotely, but SDI-12 library is not working on the new Arduino GIGA board, Is it possible to use your fix to update the library for this set up?

Its some good thinking and takes time to scope it. From what I understand, some of the AI on vision detection may have a lot of promotion without understanding what it takes technically to make it reliable. I’ve […]

Hello Neilh20 Sorry for the slow response. As mentioned as an aquatic ecologist I am more on the end user side of the insect camera trap development than the front-end design and am grasping about 40% of the […]

Could you please look at porting the code to the new Arduino R4 UNOs? They use a different chip (Renesas RA4M1 (Arm® Cortex®-M4)), and I cannot get SDI-12 code to compile for those board definitions.

I am also working through the learn EnviroDIY course (amazing resource and really thorough!) and having the same issues as letsid. I have tried the pio lib install to no avail. Any ideas of things to try next?

I was actually having trouble with both. It is now working with the onboard socket.
