OK, I’m giving up on the ProTrinket solution. I went with the ProTrinket originally because there was a wiring diagram I could understand (not a hardware person). I need a similar picture for the Mayfly. I don’t understand what the following means: “First you need to enable the pullup resistor on pin D10, which is already built in to the Mayfly…[Read more]

I don’t know if the Mayfly is powerful enough for any of the SSL libraries, but you shouldn’t need one. The SIM7080G itself can handle the layers of secure connection. The Mayfly should only need to tell it to use the secure connection. Look in the examples for secure connections in the TinyGSM library. Essentially all you need to do is call
TinyGs…

Unfortunately, there’s not a way currently to change the data level from provisional.

I went with the ProTrinket/Mayfly solution. My problem is no red light on the ProTrinket, only a green, I have pushed the reset button on the ProTrinket but still no red light. Is there a setting under tools that needs to be changed? If you look up bootloader for the ProTrinket, it says the ProTrinket must be connected to a computer via USB. In…[Read more]

There are multiple sources of power on the Mayfly boards. There’s 3.3v that’s always on, then there’s a separate 3.3v regulator that can be switched on and off by setting pin D22 high or low in your code. There’s also a separate 5v boost regulator (and on Mayfly v1.x) a 12v boost regulator, both of which are also controlled by D22 in your s…[Read more]

How do I switch over to the 12 volt power supply? The Board Features Overview page says the 5 and 12 volt circuits can be accessed from pin D22, but I am having trouble finding that pin. I notice there are some pins labeled Sw3, Sw5, and Sw12 at the bottom of the 20-pin headers. Is that where I switch the supply voltage, and if so, which pins am I…[Read more]

It is working now! Thank you for helping me through that!

Thanks for the screenshot, that shows the Mayfly board is being seen by the computer, so it’s not a cable or Mayfly issue. But Windows doesn’t know how to use the Mayfly correctly as a USB device because Windows didn’t automatically install the necessary drivers. I’m assuming this is the first time you’ve connected a Mayfly v1.x board to this p…[Read more]
