My stations as described above have been working fine for 3 years in the field. I’ve had a few components fail (12-5v buck converter, XBee daughter card, resistor divider) but otherwise very stable.
However, one Mayfly (0.5b) seems to be performing fine with 2 exceptions:

Thanks. The project perspective is often – initial qty and then what might be follow on qtys. Of course project planning is only a what if, and no guarantee
In my experience, one of the challenges with building an electronics board, other than the world wide supply chain issues, is that the base cost of engineering often means that at least 5…[Read more]

Hi Neil,
I would only need 5 at this stage. I would connect it to my Yosemitech turbidity sensors and potentially Yosemitech pH sensors as well.

James

@James_NZ – I’m curious, just wondering how many RS485’s stations are you looking at and your planning project timeline.
What sort of instruments/powering are you looking to connect to.
There is a forward looking discussion on issues here, though the timeline for anything being built, I’m guessing is really dependent on specific project…[Read more]

Appreciate the hard work.

No estimate yet, I’m still working on the redesign and will then have to get them manufactured once we’ve fully tested them.

Hi Shannon,
Do you have any idea when the RS-485 half shields are likely to be in stock?

Hi Shannon,
Thank you once again for your thoughtful and thorough reply – as well as for your patience and understanding of my Mayfly ignorance for not having attended a workshop.
I greatly appreciate you sharing your time and knowledge. Your reply above is quite helpful.
The board already has corrosion issues on the main chip- likely…[Read more]
