Woops, sorry, the XBee uses carriage returns instead of new lines so the 22/23/25 isn’t appearing.
Add this to your platformio.ini:
monitor_flags= --eol CR
Your log will suddenly get a lot longer.

The battery I am using is basically straight from the box so I was under the assumption that it was about 50% charged. I have not had the opportunity to complete the solder on the Voltaic solar panel. The antenna has been gently wiggled! I should also note that I did not remove the antenna when testing the second Digi XBee (to avoid un…[Read more]

-45? The nominal RSSI range for the XBee3 is -113 dBm (really bad) to -51 dBm (excellent) so -45 either means your signal is *amazing* or not valid. I made a small change to that program to continuously print the quality so you can watch it to see if it changes while trying to register. When running that first connection sketch, are you se…[Read more]

Thank you for taking the time to put that together! It worked… sort of. My SIM successfully connected to the internet! It took maybe 30 minutes. My signal quality is listed as -45.
After successfully connecting, I restart the Mayfly and build in the MMW example. This code fails to connect and I get the same result as before ( “could not co…[Read more]

I did not try to add it while at at “break level”. That is true, I missed this in the spec.
I’m guessing most (if not all) SDI-12 sensors wake up on a rising edge then start their timers from their. I think it will work all the same while respecting the SDI-12 spec.
I’ve actually got a few sensors now. As soon as I’ve got the hardware to drive…[Read more]

Did you try adding the wait to the break before the marking? Does that work?
I modified the SDI-12 library to allow an optional extra warm-up delay, but I but the wait while the line was in break/spacing rather than in marking. I didn’t want to add the time to the marking because while sensors must be able to respond to a command within 100ms o…[Read more]

Woops, yes, the example has changed since then. Sorry about that.
And, yes, you’re definitely not alone. I think issues with LTE connections are the top forum topic here. The LTE XBee3’s are so much trouble. I wish I could find something better.
From your pictures, your hardware connections look right. 🙂
As you’ve read, the first conn…[Read more]

I’m sorry for not replying faster, but, no, there’s no way to delete or overwrite existing data short of deleting the entire time series.

<p style=”font-weight: 400;”>I am unable to connect to the internet (and therefore monitor my watershed). After reading some other posts, it seems that I am not alone. However, I am still having problems even after reading some of the tips. Here are links to the forums that I have read:</p>

Hello,
I have a slight issue with one of my sites on MMW. It seems the last time I manually uploaded a CSV, I accidentally specified the wrong time zone (-5 instead of +12). I have corrected this in the CSV and tried to re-upload to MMW, but it still reads as UTC-5 on the site (and the ‘peaks’ are offset accordingly).
Is there a way to…[Read more]

I left it at the “marking” level. Here is your typical CS215 SDI-12 frame with said modification to the lib. I think this is an ADDR request (I decoded it but can’t find my notes anymore).

Thanks, Anthony, for this informative post! It speaks to some questions we at Trout Unlimited have had about MMW, its current performance, and future direction, as we look to expand our Mayfly deployments.

Thanks Robert, Cal, Jim and others for this thread, and to @shicks for providing all those updates on the Hologram situation.
I would like to add that our team overseeing the Monitor My Watershed portal has also noticed some issues on our end, which are separate from the Hologram issues, and we are working on improving MMW services.

The Hologram network was back up and running early this morning, and there have been no further issues with their network today. All of the stations that lost connectivity on Sunday are functioning normally.

I spoke to Jim Moore (@w3asa) today and he is going to write up a blog detailing his method for protecting wires from rodent damage (and maybe from people damage like Jake’s?). But I don’t think this will help in situations like Christa’s. Sorry Christa 🙁

T-mobile is the only provider of 2G service that works with the GPRSbee modules that many people are using with the Mayfly, including about 40 stations managed by Stroud. T-Mobile plans to deactivate the network by the end of 2020, so anyone wishing to modernize their Mayfly’s cell technology will need to replace the GPRSbee with a 4G LTE board.…[Read more]
