I am curious, did this just start or when you look back on battery voltage has it been doing this foe a while ? TomG2

We have 2 stations we’ve recently deployed which are reporting ~7.5 volts during the day and 4.2V at night (graphs attached).
I suspect that the solar cable was accidentally plugged into one of the LIPO BATT ports (with the battery is plugged into the other LIPO BATT port). They’ll get that corrected asap, but I want to ask @shicks: Would this…[Read more]

My USB connect to a rev1.1 board appears to be failing.
It was working, and now its stop connecting to the PC, stops even causing an audible ding.
If I take the same USB C cable and plug it in to the USB C of a Rev1.0A3 it sometimes works. Usually causes an audible ding, but sometimes doesn’t appear as a com port.
I’ve rebooted my PC twice, and…[Read more]

neilh20 replied to the topic Mayfly version 0.5b data accuracy/validity in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 6 months ago
One aspect of measurements the Mayfly does manage is the time. If the small battery gets used up, then it will reset to a default time. Another way of checking time is roughly accurate (+/ couple hours) is when the peak temperature occurs.

The CTD does not allow an internal calibration, but we do a calibration in the lab with conductivity standards and apply the calibrated data as a calculated variable.
This is maybe semantics, but the Mayfly wouldn’t be a source of quality (or the lack thereof). That’s the sensor’s job. CTDs are usually pretty durable.

Hi,
Our Mayfly 0.5b has been redeployed after sitting in storage for more than a year. Yesterday I downloaded a week’s worth of data and I’m wondering how to tell if it is accurate and that the CTD probes are working as they should.
From a quick scan of the data I’ve noticed a few things.
- the battery voltage is holding steady at above 4.0.…

@brianjastram, our partners at LimnoTech believe they have resolved the affiliation issue for you. I’m adding an excerpt here for the record; please see GitHub issue #562 for the full explanation.
This site’s affiliation should be resolved. […] The short term fix is to make sure the user is affiliated with an organization, then edit the site…

I’ve been chewing and reading about LoRa for some time, and just recently been reviewing as part of student engineering project the data flow for LoRa and LoRaWan to TTN (The Things Network) and then to ubidots.
LoRa is designed as a long distance wireless protocol, however its also has constrained packet size.
So it seems to me, at this stage…[Read more]

Sara Damiano replied to the topic 0.33.0 release testing in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 6 months ago
The a-la-carte example isn’t usable as written any more. It got to be too big so I filled it up ugly pre-processor conditionals and snippet markers to use for continuous integration and documentation.
There are virtual functions all over the library, which definitely are eating up memory. I think almost the entire inheritance chain for sensors,…[Read more]

Many thanks to @srgdamiano for the excellent releases and notes for 0.33.0.
It does take a lot of detail work to capture a release, and put together good notes on it
https://github.com/EnviroDIY/ModularSensors/releases/tag/v0.33.0I’ve merged it to my fork, so it’s the baseline, and I’ve been testing it over the weekend.
The configuration is Ma…[Read more] - Load More
