I got to talk with someone at Digi Business Development about the availability of the XB3 LTE (XB3-C-A2-UT-001)
They have supply chain issues with providing the XB3, they had hoped for it to be available in March, but its slipped, so …. end of year? but could change.
They said that Digikey is the largest distributor, and processes orders in d…[Read more]

Nuts you lost one.
Unfortunately it take the Digi “Xbee TH Development Board” to do an upgrade. Hopefully the new ones will be come with the latest software.

I am also getting “Server Error (500)” when I use the Forgot Password link in the Monitor My Watershed login form. @aufdenkampe, could it be related to this GitHub issue?

I think it has been mentioned on other posts briefly, but if you are using a XBee3 Cellular LTE-M/NB-IoT modem make sure it is updated to the newest cellular firmware immediately ( A.02.19 firmware). A known issue on the early modem revisions was discovered which leads to corrupted memory in the ublox modem portion of the unit and they become…[Read more]

We are seeing a Server Error 500 getting returned from a Forgot Password request on Monitor My Watershed. Are others seeing this, and is there a remedy?

@ayalavinay, Monitor My Watershed has two APIs:
- An HTTP POST API designed for devices to submit data to MonitorMW, as documented here: https://github.com/ODM2/ODM2DataSharingPortal/blob/main/doc/example_rest_requests.md
- A Water One Flow (WOF) / WaterML API for scripts or apps to get data out of the MonitorMW database, as documented here:…

Thanks for the advice Neil, I think you helped me figure out a path forward here. I have a stream with long-term monitoring data that I do not want to interrupt, so my inclination is to use a sensor that I know how to use (Hydros 21) and if budget/free time allows I would purchase the Keller CTD without being under any time constraints to get it…[Read more]

Hi Dan, wow interesting it works to 3.2V. Yes RS485 should work well and it can go a long distance.
You do need a physical RS485 driver wing board that will fit with the UART pins. RS485 is a specific differential voltage protocol that can travel thousands of feet on two wires. The instrument requires 4 wires. See above for examples.
My…[Read more]

Where can I find API keys for MMW? I want to use the data sent to MMW for my sensor to send to an App. How can I do that? Is there an API that is already available?

Jake, I deleted a “test” site of mine last week in MMW and it worked as expected (no error).

I’ve seeing articles on Azure and been curious about it, so I dug a bit deeper.
IoT is complex, so my starting point is to simplify and focus on environmental outdoor monitoring, or technically the “eco system” associated with ModularSensors from sensor to visualization.
For me the strengths of ModularSensors on Mayfly/Solar, are the inter…[Read more]

Thank you very much! I’ll keep looking for the updated manual. Since I’m working with middle school students can you point me to lower-cost sensor options? I would really like to have a turbidity sensor on our station, and I am in the process of ordering a CTD sensor from METER. Thank you for your reply!

Thanks for the information everyone, I really appreciate it!
It sounds like RS485 is the way to go if I want to keep it simpler and use methods similar (hopefully) to the Acculevel 0r Nanolevel sensors. The RS485 interface only requires 3.2 V, so does this mean that no voltage booster/level shifter would be required?
The RS485 version would have…[Read more]
