Fortunately, we deployed to AWS region US-east-2 (Ohio) and it was the US-east-1 (Virgina) data center that went down, so our release yesterday was not affected by the AWS outage!
Unfortunately, we’ve seen two issues with caching mess up our otherwise smooth release:
- Domain Name Service (DNS) caches are causing some devices to send data to our…

Hi All,
This is all related to a temporary data routing issue when we switched from LimnoTech servers to Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers yesterday with our MonitorMW v0.12 release. The data are not lost but rather still getting routed to our old servers because the Domain Name System (DNS) update that points our URLs to our new IP addresses is…[Read more]

@mbarney, @neilh20, thanks for pinging us.
As @heather mentioned, we released MonitorMW v0.12 yesterday at that time, which has some major under-the-hood improvements to substantially improve reliability, including now being hosted by AWS (zone: us-east-2; Ohio). For details read our v0.12.0: Update to Python 3.8 & Django 2.2; Migrate to AWS…[Read more]

Hi @mbarney and @w3asa, LimnoTech’s team is working hard on a fix. Please see my reply on Matt’s other post for a bit more detail.

@mbarney, @neilh20, thanks for your posts. The switch from the LimnoTech server to Amazon Web Services happened shortly after 13:00 EST on December 7. LimnoTech’s team is seeing that their production server is still receiving data from devices, which means that data is not going to the new AWS production. @aufdenkampe and his LimnoTech team are…[Read more]

I observed the same issue on one of my sensor stations with last data on Dec 7 at 12:55. I have 4G modems and was working fine till then. I am located in elverson Pa. I thought it was a modem failure which Shannon has had a bunch of. Maybe the Amazon cloud server problem.

I’m wondering if anything is known about the widespread (but not universal) pattern of sites without data since about Dec. 7, 2021, 12:55 p.m. (UTC-05:00)?
Note the pale-green pins on the map (‘Data within last 72 hours’). This is affecting the majority of our sites, and many others, as shown in the screenshot attached. This is a bit of a…[Read more]

Just wondering if we could please get a status update on MMW. Most of our sites have now been offline for ~21 hours. My colleague replaced a Mayfly and modem this morning (for a separate issue), and its data began reporting to MMW immediately, but our others are still offline. Any ETA on a fix?
Thanks,

Interesting, thanks for the post. I was wondering I’m not getting data posted from my units.
However the data posted can be read, so seems only the backend has failed.

Hey wow good to see. I’ve been experimenting on the staging version of this, and so the new TSA is much faster and slightly different, but soooo much better.!!.
What I’ve seen is initially the new graphs draw a years worth of data and auto-range.
It can be narrowed with the “Date Range” by clicking on Begin – and selecting a new start date.…[Read more] -

@ayalavinay, @james-dareboprc-govt-nz: Just a heads up that a new version (v0.12) of Monitor My Watershed has just been pushed from staging to production (at ~13:15 EST today). Please look for a release post here on EnviroDIY.org in the next day or two from @aufdenkampe outlining improvements to the data portal.

I still have the same issue for my sites too.
Also TSA only seems to show battery voltage and Mayfly board temperature.

We are in the process of getting the certification. All testing has been completed and we are just needing to schedule and official drive test with Verizon. After this we expect to have certification shortly after. I am estimating we will have it completed late De…
