Hi Sara, any advice on the question above, about powerUp/powerDown vs. wake/sleep?Matt

Doh, yes, Shannon’s right! I didn’t look closely enough before I deleted it, but there probably is a missing UUID!
Looking back, I replaced all the UUID’s with <<REMOVED>> for you so because you probably don’t want those to be public. I can’t see or revert it to the original, but looking at it, your last measurement has just

I saw this happen with someone recently who was having the same issue with data not showing up online and getting the 504 response code. Turns out it was a missing UUID in the list of sensor variables in the Arduino sketch. When there’s a mismatch between the string you send Monitor My Watershed and what it’s expecting, you get the 504 r…[Read more]

In addition to what Sara said (she’s the best!) about the UUIDs for the station when I’m doing that many stations at once I easily also miss an occasional apn = “hologram”.
If the code all checks out, I second the experience that it’s strange how sometimes it takes way longer for one or two modems to connect, even when things are from the same…[Read more]

If it’s a Windows device each Mayfly will be assigned a different COM port number. Maybe you knew this but that’s the best I have with what you are saying. It’s promising that they connect.
(I mean, there’s also the is the Mayfly turned on step…)

Hmm. Does Hologram show any data being transferred?
Monitor My Watershed is known to sometimes drop or not respond for no apparent reason. But usually if one station is working all the time and another isn’t it’s either the UUID and tokens or the internet connection. When you’re looking at MonitorMW, are you seeing anything at all? The num…[Read more]

Yes, the SIM cards are appearing as active on Hologram.
We had three staff try it separately, pulling the tokens and UUIDs each time from MMW so I’m assuming their correct. We could try another time to make sure.

Sara Damiano replied to the topic 504 Response Code in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 3 years, 7 months ago
I should add that we haven’t figured out why some connect right away and others don’t. So even with an apparently identical batch of sims and modems, it wouldn’t surprise me if some connect immediately and others don’t.
I removed the UUID’s from your post.

Sara Damiano replied to the topic 504 Response Code in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 3 years, 7 months ago
Do you see any connections or activity from the SIM cards on Hologram? Sometimes it takes a really long time to connect to the network with a new SIM card, a new modem, or at a new location.
Are you sure your tokens and UUIDs are all correct?

I’m working in Arduino and cannot get two of our stations to connect. Two com ports appear but neither work to connect the logger – the correct board is selected and we tried multiple computers and cables.
We were able to prepare other stations on each computer so it doesn’t appear to be a driver issue.

I’m working on getting our 14 stations ready for deployment and had two stations give a 504 response code on Arduino and then not appear on envirodiy.org though they are saving data to the SD card:

Hi Dan,
We recently did some internal testing of this issue and will post results soon. We don’t have a “fix”, but we did measure this behavior to guide our own interpretation of data.

Woops. The invalid version number was my fault; I screwed up the semantic versioning. I released a new version yesterday which is identical except for the version number which is now a valid 0.28.3.
But that isn’t actually your problem. The invalid version number and the stuff about “requestFrom…” are just warnings. It compiled anyw…[Read more]

Hi James,
If its the standard variable resistance then you should be able to just use the switched 3V. The ADS1115 is going to be more accurate.
FYI in case its of interest, I did some work with it and here is what I found out about the eTape; as I remember with the eTape, was that in calibration it wouldn’t register to the printed zero mark -…[Read more]

Hi,
I’d like to request a new sensor to be added to Monitor My Watershed. It’s made by Turner, and is called a Turner Turbidity Plus. It reports 2 variables: a voltage reading (Volts) and turbidity (NTU). It’s similar to the Cyclops-7F-T Turbidity that is currently available in MMW.
Thanks!

I have a ProTrinket that counts rain gauge tips and an Xbee LTE that are both connected to my solar powered Mayfly. On March 10th the board temp spiked up from the 40sF to the 70sF, the battery voltage spiked from 4.4v to 4.8v and I got a -9999 for a tip count. Then the temp. battery and tips went back to normal. This happened about 50-60 times…[Read more]
