For the code, it makes no difference if it’s a Hydros21 or a CTD-10. The change between them is name-only.
Did you install all of the libraries from either the libraries repository or the ModularSensors release? You need to unzip the libraries into your Arduino user folder. The error you’re getting is saying that the compiler can’t find one of them.

Sara,
I thought I had found the problem but, I was wrong. However, to be honest I don’t know if I have a Decagon CTD-10 or a Meter Group Hydros 21. My invoice calls out a “CTD-10Hydros 21”. The Quick Start Guide calls out a Decagon CTD-10 but I thought I ordered a Meter Group Hydros 21. I have no idea if this even makes a difference.

Gosh @shicks that is great to hear. I wonder would you share how you made the sleep measurements with the microSD present. Any sketches for putting the mega1284 to sleep. Getting to 0.5mA would be fantastic!
Matt Interesting real data with a coulomb counter. Great stuff.
My current measurements on 0.28.01 for sleep are 2.5mA . I haven’t got a…[Read more]

Hi Matt, that’s great it can do the wiper at 3.3V.
I’m using the onboard ADS1115 dedicating AA0 for LiIon battery measurement see photo .
https://github.com/neilh10/ModularSensors/wiki/Hw-Mayfly-ECO-R04 Its using 1Mohms and 100Kohms.
I did initially try 1M and 1M but the ADS1115 still had some voltage offset I couldn’t account for or get rid of…[Read more]

It sounds like your Mayfly is not actually going to sleep. An idle Mayfly will use around 6.5mA, and a sleeping Mayfly will use between 0.25mA and 0.5mA, depending on whether you’ve got a microSD card in the slot and the type of card. Here’s the power consumption results from Mayfly current tests:
Mayfly current when board is powered and i…[Read more]

Hi all,
I’ve been doing some testing to measure the amount of power consumed by my Mayfly during various modes, and thought I’d share my results here. I’m interested in any and all feedback from the community.
I’m using the SparkFun coulomb counter that I’ve plugged into a spare Mayfly, which reports via USB to my laptop. Its set up to sample the…[Read more] -

Hi Neil,
I’m powering the Turner Turbidity Plus via the Mayfly’s 3.3V, and its average current draw during wiper cycles is 109mA.
Thanks for sharing your wingboard. As far as wiring, I have some of the EnviroDIY protoshields that I plan to use. I’m interested in how, physically, you connected the Vbat to your ADC for measurement. Are you using…[Read more]

After copying text from ‘Token and UUID List’ and adding to DRWI_LTE (see screenshots) I’m getting an error message after hitting upload button. “Error compiling for board EnviroDIY Mayfly 1284p.” Any suggestions? I double checked the changes and can’t find any errors.

Sorry Matt for the lingo – its hardware speak. 🙂 It was on a number of my boards.!! I now measure the LiIon via the ADS1115 – here is what the two look like in the field.

Just a note, I’ve switched to an STC3100 ” Battery monitor IC with Coulomb counter “. The LTC2942 became unavailable and turned out to be more expensive.
I’ve got the basic driver here – the device driver reading the registers is here –https://github.com/neilh10/STC3100arduino

Aha – I think that must be it. I retested with a new Mayfly, and its reported voltage agrees with my multimeter within 0.1V. The old Mayfly (s/n is either 180080 or 190080) was probably purchased in 2018, and has been my desktop tester, almost always under USB power, so didn’t detect any problems until now.
Thanks @shicks!!

Sounds like it might possibly be this issue: https://www.envirodiy.org/topic/innacurate-lipo-battery-voltage-data/
I’ve only seen it happen on a few boards since that post a couple years ago. The only fix it to replace the bad MOSFET transistor.

I believe that the Mayfly is reporting a battery voltage that’s erroneously low. I have a 4400mAh lipo that measures 4.16V fully charged, and I’m connecting it to the Mayfly on my desk and running a program with a 3-minute sampling interval. During the measurement cycle (including LTE modem operation), the lowest reading seen on my multimeter is…[Read more]

It shows you’ve got “Arduino Uno” selected as your board type. If you’re using a Mayfly, you need to change that in the “Tools–> Board” menu. Once you’ve done that, also make sure you’ve selected the right COM port. All of this is assuming you’ve already added the Mayfly board to the IDE as a supported board,…[Read more]

I’m so sorry about the bad version number! I’ll put out a new release to fix it!
@aufdenkape – The only reason was that I was thinking about the way Windows sorts files alphabetically where having the leading zero helps. That’s pretty meaningless for this, so it needs to be fixed.
