Shannon, can you share your code for enabling the Mayfly to keep track of the cumulative total?

I don’t know how to do that but I think I could figure it out. Can you point me in the right direction?

Is there a way to plot precipitation on Monitor My Watershed (MMW) as an accumulating total? I’m getting the spiky plot showing tips/5min. but I’d like to show tips/24hrs.

I checked the SD card from one of my cellular enabled Mayflys and was surprised to find 14 .csvs created in the last 20 days. Some of the breaks (with missing data point) in the .csvs match with a missing data point on MMW. One of the gaps on MMW is between voltage values of differing digits after the decimal, 4.745 and 4.73. So now I’m seeing…[Read more]

<I added and set the MS_SEND_BUFFER_SIZE to 750.
I’ll keep monitoring the data and keep you informed.
Thanks again. -

Yes, some.
All 4 modems are in transparent mode and there are no gaps on the SD card. The issue is on both the WiFi (1) and cellular (3) modems and the gaps are there in the data in all 3 ways I view the data on MMW except sparklines because those don’t show small gaps. Regarding Hologram some of my data sessions have no data consumption and some…[Read more] -

I’ve got 3 XBee LTE-M modems and an XBeeS6B WiFi modem all regularly transmitting data at 5 minute intervals to MMW. Is there any reason why I’m seeing about 97.6% of those data points make it through to MMW instead of 100%?

Adam, Maybe give ModularSensors 0.23.11 a try. See https://www.envirodiy.org/topic/response-code-504-sending-data-to-data-envirodiy-org/
It’s kind of working for me and Dan. Currently though I’m getting exactly 24 hour gaps in my data stream to MMW. -

Fantastic! That’s just great. It feels good to have helped.

Dan,
That is so frustrating. It sounds like you are making good efforts at troubleshooting.
Besides trying ModularSensors Library version 0.23.11 and checking that the *.ino file and Platformio.ini file are not conflicting I’m running out of ideas. You’ve got your modem connected to the internet but that MMW connection just ins’t happening.
You…[Read more] -

Dan,
I’m using Platform IO.
I assume you’re talking about the ‘Recent Data Sessions Table’ when you referenced the hologram activity log. I use that also and have noticed (and submitted a ticket for the fact) that when my data makes it through to MMW a single data session uses about 2-3 K bytes of data and all these other times I’m experiencing…[Read more] -

Maybe it’s a ModularSensors Library problem. I’m using version 0.23.11

BrianJastram replied to the topic Data Gap When Voltage is Low in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 5 years, 2 months ago
I think the main problem right now is that the modem data session lasts about the whole length of the logging interval. The cell modem seems to stay on and connected too much.

BrianJastram replied to the topic Data Gap When Voltage is Low in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 5 years, 2 months ago
OK, I see, thank you, that makes sense. I should be able to extend the time of >3.65V by increasing my logging interval from 5 to 30 min. I’ll keep that ‘attempt to re-send data’ project in mind as I gain experience and availability.

When my Mayfly voltage is <3.65 it is programmed to just log data and not publish (to MMW via DigiXBeeCellular)? When the voltage is good again why doesn’t it send all the data that were logged in the interim? This is a remote site so I haven’t checked to see if the data are on the SD card. The logging interval is 5 min. (I’m planning to increase…[Read more]

Dave,
I bought the PulseLarson W3554B0140 RF ANT 829MHZ/2.2GHZ PCB TRACE (https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=553-2574-ND) and I’m pretty sure it works. It looks like the one that comes with the Development kit (https://www.digi.com/products/models/xk3-c-n1-ut-e).

mdean,
I want to try those things but don’t have enough experience yet to know exactly how. When you reference TinyGSM (increasing the timeout time) what exactly do you mean by TinyGSM? And defining the modem serial at 9600 is understandable except I don’t see where to do that (in my logging_to_EnviroDIY sketch or in a different sketch that sets…[Read more]
