While I have been working most of my career as a technical  and performance architect on enterprise computers systems, I have a background as an analytical chemist. I have developed several automation products for analytical instruments and also managed a water quality laboratory.

I am currently combining my interests in environment, computer architecture and analytical chemistry by implementing the Great Lakes Data Watershed (gldw.org), a environmental data repository with integrated  visual processing, streaming events and alerting.
