Got it – thanks! I had the USB DIP switch off. I misinterpreted the specs sheet about the function of the switch, thinking it only disabled the LED, not the port. Is there a power penalty if I leave the USB switch on for a field deployment? The spec suggests that there is, but the USB LED won’t be lit in that case.

When I connected my first v1 Mayfly last week, my laptop (Win10) didn’t recognize it. I manually installed the VCP drivers for CP210x from SiLabs, and then it worked. Uploaded code (using PlatformIO) to the board, and all was well. I set it aside for the weekend, and today I can’t get Windows to recognize the Mayfly. Windows Device Manager’s list of COM ports never updates when I power up the connected Mayfly board. I tried reinstalling the drivers from SiLabs (first their “CP210x Universal Windows Driver”, then tried “CP210x Windows”), and I rebooted. Also tried a different USB port. Still no joy. Any ideas?

I have a couple of related questions as we prepare to integrate v1.0 boards into our new deployments, while also keeping our existing 0.5b installations operating for as long as possible.

            1. Will Hologram SIMs work with the new EnviroDIY LTE Bee modem? I recall seeing a discussion that it was under test, but can’t seem to find that now.
            2. Will the new EnviroDIY LTE Bee modem work with Mayfly 0.5b (provided that the EnviroDIY LTEBee Adapter board is also used)?
            3. Will the Digi LTE CAT M-1 work with Mayfly v1.0? I’m assuming so, based on the Mayfly’s Details and Specs page.

Thanks! Excited to try the new boards.

            Best,
            Matt

Thanks for the quick reply, Shannon. I was able to get the cables and the adapter all working, following your instructions.

                    OK, thanks for that clarification.

@fisherba – Thanks for sharing this! I’ll be very interested to learn what Meter tells you.

I see what you mean on their product page: “When used with the ZL6 data logger, you won’t require an additional sensor for measuring—and referencing—barometric pressure.”

However, both the sensor manual and the Integrator Guide in the Downloads section describe the vent for atmospheric correction, as expected — definitely an inconsistency.

FWIW, my most recent HYDROS 21 purchase was March 18th, and it’s got the vent. The part description on the Meter invoice says “40683-S CTD-10 (HYDROS 21) Sensor, Stereo end, 10 meters”. It’s got the new black cable, but I don’t know whether that indicates it’s a gen 2; the website only appears to mention gen 1. The only other change I can see visually is that the hook on the mesh Kellem cord grip could be more easily removed because it’s held on with a threaded link, rather than being clamped directly to the grip.
