About Me

I am a PhD student in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. As part of my dissertation research, we are developing an Arduino-based wireless sensor network to continuously monitoring water quality and stream flow at an experimentally mined and reclaimed surface coal mine in eastern Kentucky. Water quality parameters of interest include conductivity, pH, temperature, and major cations/anions. Continuous measurements include climate (rainfall, temp, RH, wind speed, and wind direction), water level and temperature, conductivity, Ca2+, Cl-, pH, and ORP.
