Shannon Hicks started the topic Time zone reminder for MMW in the forum Monitor My Watershed 2 years, 9 months ago
This is just a little reminder that here in North America the local time jumped one hour forward last night for Daylight Saving Time, however the Monitor My Watershed website does not adjust the timestamp for data, meaning everything on the website is still shown in local standard time.
For example, the MMW webpage from a Mayfly monitoring…[Read more]

This looks like a common database issue that usually gets resolved by a server restart, so maybe @aufdenkampe can comment on it?

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic Problems with libraries on the Mayfly Data Logger in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 9 months ago
I assume you mean the manual is pointing you to Github where you attempted to download the libraries? If you go to https://github.com/EnviroDIY/Libraries and follow the instructions on that page in the section called “Installing Libraries in Arduino IDE”, you’ll save the libraries.zip file by right-clicking on the link in the text that says…[Read more]

You should try adding it as an issue (if it’s not already reported) on the ODM2DataSharingPortal Github issues page so the development team that’s working on TSV will see it.

There’s a few things in your post to clarify to make sure we’re talking about the same equipment. The various instructional videos and manuals we’ve released in the past few years cover several different configurations of sensors and cables and equipment. The majority of the stations we deployed before 2020 had a Meter Group CTD sensor and a C…[Read more]

Shannon Hicks commented on the post, New Mayfly v1.1 release date and Product Status page 2 years, 10 months ago
Just an update: we’ve pushed the release date back to March 10 to account for some logistical issues here, plus it’ll give more time for Amazon to restock the boards so they’ll be available in single quantities […]

The part number for the mating connector for the solar quick connect jack is mentioned at the bottom of the Details and Specs page, as well as in the Monitoring Station Manual at the bottom of section 6.1 which […]

Shannon Hicks started the topic Mayfly v1.1 technical questions forum thread in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 10 months ago
This is the forum thread to ask general technical question about the Mayfly v1.1 board. If you’ve got a basic question such as what are the board’s features or how it differs from previous versions, this is the place to ask. If you’ve got a more complicated question or issue, then it is probably best to start your own thread. The goal of th…[Read more]

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic 2022 EnviroDIY Hardware Status and Availability in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 10 months ago
The only difference between versions is stated in the first paragraph of the blog post: the only major change being the circuit that provides the switchable 12 volt boost output was redesigned to provide a higher power output. And 2 minor changes: one set of pin labels were slightly change and one solder jumper was added to the back of the board…[Read more]

On March 1 March 10 (edited Feb 24), we will be releasing the latest version of the Mayfly Data Logger, which is version v1.1. It is visually the same as the v1.0 board that was released in October and has […]

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic pc and Mac unable to communicate with mayfly ver. 0.5b in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 10 months ago
If there’s a CR1220 watch battery installed in the battery slot on the Mayfly (with sufficient voltage) then the RS3231 RTC will still be alive and continuing to think it’s whatever time it thinks it is. However if the board has been sitting in storage for awhile and not attached to a main Lipo battery, it’s likely that the CR1220 is dead and…[Read more]

I’m not familiar with the code regarding the complex loop since it’s not something I’ve ever used, and I’ve also not used one of those modbus wings, so I think Anthony or Neil will need to be the ones to help with this issue.

If your Mac isn’t seeing the Mayfly as a USB device in your computer OS list of current devices, then you need to install the FTDI drivers from the device website at https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/
Mac and Windows 10 should automatically install those drivers whenever a Mayfly is connected to a computer for the first time, but sometimes…[Read more]

We’ve seen that very rarely, usually it happens when the connection between the Mayfly and the sensor is bad, and the fault is either mechanical damage to the sensor cable (rodents chewing, flood damage, etc) or corrosion on the contacts inside the Grove stereo jack due to moisture inside the logger enclosure, or bad connection of the Grove cable…[Read more]

Are you using the new sim7080 directly plugged in to the Mayfly, or are you still using the LTEbee adapter board from your old Digi hardware in between the sim7080 and the Mayfly?

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic Keller CTD Sensor in the forum Environmental Sensors 2 years, 11 months ago
We haven’t used that sensor at Stroud, but after looking at the spec sheet, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with one of our newer Mayfly models that generates 12v. You’ll need a Modbus interface if you want to use that protocol, so either building your own or using the one we’ll be releasing soon. For SDI-12, it should work directly connected t…[Read more]
