@w3asa Glad to hear you were able to download your data. The Monitor My Watershed download function may not perform well if the file size is too large. Here are a couple of tips for avoiding download timeouts:
- Don’t collect data at 5-minute intervals for long periods unless you know you need it for a particular parameter and site; 15-minute…

@w3asa Did you look at this example: https://github.com/EnviroDIY/ModularSensors/tree/master/examples/DRWI_Mayfly1. I think it’s almost exactly what you want.

Most I2C devices don’t like having the power to the device cut and the reapplied, which is why the Vcc pin of the Mayfly’s I2C Grove jack is constantly powered. All the other Grove jacks switch the power on or off, but the I2C jack always has 3.3v, even with the Mayfly is asleep. So if you’re powering your Atlas board from any of the switched s…[Read more]

Hi All,
I have everything I need to build out a system using the Mayfly and Atlas Scientific sensors, but I am stuck on how to integrate the Atlas Scientific code from menu a la carte into DRWI LTE. An electrical engineering volunteer created a shield that allows us to connect four sensors on their own electrically isolated carrier boards to the…[Read more]

@w3asa @dbressler @movingplaid Jim is correct: comments made in the activity stream on the homepage do not get applied to the forum. This is a flaw in the software that runs the activity stream. I think it is needlessly confusing so I have disabled the display of the Comment link.

Thanks Robert S. Jim @w3asa your mouse wheel must be broken. And as Robert S points out the x-axis can be scrolled on within the graph itself, just not on the axis or the range at the bottom.

Jim Moore (@w3asa), I wasn’t able to replicate your problem re the mouse scrolling. I was able to expand and shrink the y-axis with my mouse wheel. You can’t do this on the x-axis but I don’t think you’ve ever been able to do this on the x-axis. Possibly your mouse wheel itself isn’t working(?)

I spoke to Jim Moore (@w3asa) today and he is going to write up a blog detailing his method for protecting wires from rodent damage (and maybe from people damage like Jake’s?). But I don’t think this will help in situations like Christa’s. Sorry Christa 🙁
How to deal with severe vandalism like this is a tough one. Christa and I were di…[Read more]

Hi Jim – To get the linear correction, you should be able to make a calculated variable in .ino file and have that reported to MMW. It looks like there’s no code for calculated variables in the DRWI_CitSci.ino, but it is in the menu_a_la_carte.ino. Hope this helps!

@w3asa – I don’t have formal training in computer science or even in electrical engineering. I have one bachelor’s level degree – in chemistry.
@stoltzfus-12osu-edu – two things with your code – and I completely understand why you did it the way you did – because the example did. Blame the chemist.
1 – you’re creating each variable 3 times in…[Read more]

Jim (@w3asa), I think the tutorial @fisherba mentioned back in Aug. 2018 is this one: https://envirodiy.github.io/LearnEnviroDIY/
We last updated it in April 2019 with our v0.2 release: https://github.com/EnviroDIY/LearnEnviroDIY/releases
So it is written for ModularSensors v0.21.2.
Otherwise, it is “complete” (but there is always room for…[Read more]

@w3asa Hi Jim, I figured I’d address the Atlas Scientific code question in this forum. Hi @ckillen, The Bee socket on the Mayfly makes it easy for the Mayfly to hook up with any radio with that connection/communication protocol. The socket can be used for several types of radios, including the 2G one that you have, WIFI radios, and the new XBee3 by Digi, that supports LTE-M communication…[Read more]
You can scroll the X-Axis by placing the mouse over the graph itself.
Sorry, ZOOM not scroll.
