Hi,
Our mayfly has been moved to a new location. I’ve created a new site registration on MMW but when I try to upload data (CSV format, 1 week’s data) I get the following error message: “Failed to upload data. This file corresponds to another site.”
I don’t have access to the log-in or site data for the previous site because the person who set it up doesn’t work here any longer.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thanks for your time and help.

The data file on your Mayfly’s memory card contains the UUID information for the original station, so even though you’ve moved the station to a new physical location and created a brand new site on MMW for the new location, the data file still contains the UUID codes that correspond to the original MMW site, and the database is smart enough to prevent people from manually uploading data from the wrong stations. You’ll need to reprogram your Mayfly board using the Arduino IDE, and paste the UUID codes from your newly-created MMW site into the appropriate section of the Arduino code. Once you do that, you’ll be able to manually upload the data correctly.

Did you update the tokens (aka the UUID)? Sometimes that needs to be done when you move it. I find it easier just in general to reprogram it for a new location.

Hi,
Thank you for reaching out. I haven’t updated the UUID on the mayfly because I’m not clear on how to do it and not mess up the sketches that it is running. Not having attended a mayfly workshop, I don’t really know much about coding/reprogramming the unit.
Any advice/instructions you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I’ve pestered Shannon enough already.
Thanks again for reaching out.

You may already be aware but I’ll put this here for others that didn’t know: recordings of a two-day Programming and Building an EnviroDIY Mayfly Monitoring Station workshop are available on the Videos page. And here’s the supplemental resource sheet with links to the videos on YouTube and other resources.

Thank you. I’ve seen some of the videos but the guide should be important for the most relevant sessions in the videos.
